Shot of the Current "new" Replica Panerai Movement

Replica Panerai MovementI know this is old news for some, but recently there is a Chinese Unitas copy floating around in some of the newer Panerai replicas. Here's a shot of the movement in a PAM-127 (Fiddy) replica.

Note that this movement has "Officine Panerai Firenze" actually engraved on the movement, unlike some earlier examples (they used the dreaded press-on sticker letters, guaranteed to drop into your movement after six months). It also has the swan neck regulator shown at the top of the movement.

This replica watch movement now is functionally equivolent to the genuine movement, and has all the "pieces." The big problem is still finish. It still doesn't have the precision finish that the genuine movement has.

I honestly think this is the last version we'll see of this movement. I can't think of anything that's easily fixable by the replica watch manufacturers. Perhaps reliability (which is all over the place) will be improved.
