Replica Watches on eBay
Recently I’ve been watching eBay very closely for replica watches. While there are always some people trying to scam you with "a watch left to me by my grandfather" or "I don’t know much about watches but it looks real", I have to give eBay credit on stamping out most of the fake watch sales that go on there. I personally have had the eBay police come knocking on my virtual door because I used to sell my ebook through eBay with titles such as "SPOT THE FAKE PANERAI". Apparently Panerai, Omega, and Rolex take offense to other people using their trademarked name.
While it’s easy to spot many fakes sold through eBay, some of the more recent high-end replicas are difficult to spot from grainy photos. My recommendation as always is to "buy the seller". Don’t buy a watch from someone who doesn’t have a history (check feedback) of selling watches and has at least a feedback rating of 50. If possible pay with a credit card or Paypal in order to have an avenue for getting your money back.
