Triple Wrap vs Gold Plating 101

Klink over at The Dark Side forum has an excellent post on the differences between gold plating and "triple wrap" plating that the replica watch industry seems to tout.  Basically it states that triple wrapping is an actual process but it's used only on the band of a watch.  Even then the process is expensive and difficult to do, it simply isn't cost effective to do on a replica watch.

It's a great read if you want to know the final word on triple wrapped watches.  When it all comes down to it all gold replica watches are gold plated unless they are solid gold.  Even the solid gold watches have a difference in that they tend to be 14k gold instead of the usual jewelers 18k gold.

Don't fall for a replica watch dealers claim of the extra value of a "triple wrapped" gold replica watch.  It's all smoke and mirrors in the end.
